Katie McDougall is the co-founder and co-director of The Porch Writers' Collective, a literary arts nonprofit in Nashville that aims to inspire, educate, and connect writers of all ages.24 McDougall is also an author working to publish her first novel, THE COLOR WHEEL, which is available for purchase on her website.1
McDougall earned a BA in English from Colorado College and an MFA in Creative Writing from Colorado State University.12 Before co-founding The Porch in 2014 with Susannah Felts, she taught English at the high school level for fifteen years in Colorado, Nashville, and the Bahamas.235 She also worked as the Master Teacher in Residence at The Island School in the Bahamas.15
