Kathy Toon
Founder & Head Coach at GlamSlam Tennis
Kathy Toon is a highly accomplished sports psychology consultant, coach, speaker, and author with extensive experience in the field of athletics. She has a Bachelor's degree in Sports Psychology from San Diego State University and has studied extensively at Pepperdine University. Over the years, she has gained expertise in sports medicine, exercise physiology, nutrition, time management, and sports psychology, among other disciplines.
As an Associate Head Coach for Women’s Tennis at the University of California-Berkeley from 1990-2004, Coach Toon led her team to victory, guiding three doubles teams to NCAA championship triumphs. She has also held coaching roles at the University of San Diego and Mills College.
In addition to her coaching experience, Toon works as a sports psychology and performance consultant to numerous high school and university teams in the Bay Area. She has worked with the University of California-Berkeley women’s basketball, men’s soccer, women’s field hockey, women’s golf, and lacrosse teams, among others, as well as a variety of other high schools and organizations. Furthermore, Toon has conducted performance seminars for notable organizations such as the ITA, USTA, LGPA, NCAA, Pac-10, and Prince Corporation.
Toon is also an accomplished author, having written several books on achieving peak performance in sports, including Get Your Game Face On!, which provides athletes with a four-step process to deliver their best performance under pressure. Another book, Raising Champions: Revealing Stories from Parents of Great Athletes—and Great People, is full of inspiring stories of ordinary parents raising extraordinary athletes.
In general, Toon specializes in sport psychology consultation, coaching, public speaking and writing on topics related to athletics. She is widely recognized for her expertise in sports psychology and coaching, and her work has been praised by athletes, coaches, and parents alike.
