Katherine Brem

Katherine Brem is a seasoned legal professional with a diverse background, hailing from a prestigious JD program at The University of Texas School of Law and holding a BJ in Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin.

As a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Houston Law Center, Brem imparts her knowledge and expertise in various legal subjects including Evidence, Lawyering Skills and Strategies, Federal Pretrial Drafting, and Lawyering Skills for Foreign-Trained LL.M. Candidates.

Brem's passion for legal writing and education is evident through her active involvement in the legal community, where she holds key roles such as serving on the Executive Board of the AALS Section on Legal Writing, Reasoning, and Research, chairing the Association of Legal Writing Directors’ Teaching Grants Committee, and contributing as a deputy editor for the ABA Section of International Law’s International Law Year In Review.

Her dedication extends to statewide committees as well, with contributions to the Pattern Jury Charge, Law Practice Management, and Unauthorized Practice of Law committees showcasing her broad impact on the legal landscape.

With a keen research focus on the nexus of legal research and writing, evidence, procedure, and doctrinal law, Brem is a thought leader in the field, regularly sharing insights on best writing practices, mindfulness in practice, and U.S. legal concepts for students and foreign-trained attorneys.
