Am active creating awareness, and updating the Elks image through media and community outreach, which helps increase  event attendance and membership.  Responsible for local media calendar listings for events and Constant Contact email sends. 
 
I also successfully place photos and write-ups about Elks' charitable activities and fundraisers in  local media, including Marin Independent Journal Social Scene .  Photos and articles about San Rafael Elk events are featured in the Elks National Magazine, and the regional California-Hawaii Elks magazine.  Have obtained radio and TV coverage for Elk activities and events. 

Initiated the Elks' San Rafael Chamber of Commerce membership, posting Elks events in their online events calendar and attending regular mixers with fellow Elks.  This has resulted in increased attendance at events, new members and improving the image of Elks as a dynamic, diverse nonprofit association benefiting the Marin County community in many ways. 

Have been an active member on events organizing committees. Recently was on the organizing committee for a successful Elks community conference "Drugs & Our Community - the Negative Impacts and Connecting for Positive Actions"  This conference attracted over 100 people and much vital information was presented and many new positive contacts were made.  Helped to promote to the community media, the school system and by Constant Contact to a broad list of interested people and organizations. 

Was awarded the Elks Distinguished Citizenship Award for my accomplishments and community service as PR Chairperson.

Worked for the US 2020 Census going door to door in Marin County interviewing people at addresses that had not already responded to the Census online or by mail.  Gathered and submitted the required data electronically using a customized US Census iPhone.  Impact is that each person counted brings $20,000 of Federal funding to local communities over the next 10 years.  Position was temporary, and completed once all the work on the 2020 Census in my territory was done.
