Kate Yau

Kate Yau is currently a Legal Intern (IPC Placement Student) at Staples Canada, where she is expected to serve from January 2024 to April 2024. She is pursuing her Juris Doctor (JD) degree and has a background in finance, having graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Commerce Co-op in Finance.

In addition to her internship at Staples, Kate has gained experience through various roles, including a Summer Law Student position at Rosen & Associates Tax Law, where she engaged in drafting legal documents and providing legal counsel on various issues. She has also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Ted Rogers School of Management at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she led tutorials and provided feedback on student presentations and essays.

Kate is actively involved in extracurricular activities, serving as Co-Chair of the Asia-Pacific Students' Association and participating with the Canadian Civil Liberties Association through Pro Bono Students Canada. She is committed to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) and has been engaged with several organizations, including the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers Ontario and Cystic Fibrosis Canada.12
