Kate Harmon

Kate Harmon is an experienced educator and entrepreneur who brings over 20 years of expertise to her role as Executive Director of the University of Cincinnati's Center for Entrepreneurship. With a background in art history and anthropology, as well as experience building sustainable systems and infrastructures to support student learning and professional development, Harmon is a champion for entrepreneurship education and inclusive startup communities.

Prior to her current role, Harmon helped build the entrepreneurial ecosystems at the University of Oregon and Kent State University. She has also worked in philanthropy, collaborating with regional and national foundations focused on entrepreneurship and economic development. As a trained art historian, Harmon has also taught art history at several universities throughout the United States.

At the University of Cincinnati, Harmon cultivates a "founders-first" mindset to foster cross-campus and community entrepreneurial engagement. She has mentored thousands of clients who have gone on to build sustainable ventures in a range of industries, including technology, real estate, consumer products, logistics, retail, and nonprofits. During her tenure, these ventures have raised over $50 million in venture funding and created hundreds of jobs.
