Kate Gasparro, PhD

Kate Gasparro is a highly accomplished professional with extensive experience in infrastructure development, urban planning, and public policy analysis. Her passion for strengthening communities has driven her to work on countless projects in different parts of the world, from Argentina and Uganda to Mexico, China, and Nicaragua. Kate's entrepreneurial spirit and expertise in innovative contracting and financing strategies have made her a sought-after consultant for both private organizations and government agencies.
Kate holds a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Sustainable Design and Construction from Stanford University, where she also earned a Master's Degree in International Policy Studies. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at Clemson University.
Kate currently serves as the Director of Land Development at Bedrock Detroit, where she oversees the company's real estate development and land management operations. Before joining Bedrock Detroit, Kate worked with Building Better Cities as a Policy Analyst and Consultant, Five Point Holdings, LLC as an Assistant Project Manager, and Kiewit as a Field Engineer Intern. She has also worked as an Intern at Kittelson & Associates, Inc., Parsons Brinckerhoff, and Clark Construction.
Over the years, Kate has gained expertise in urban planning, transportation engineering, construction management, and public policy analysis. Her work has focused on developing and delivering better infrastructure, from planning through operations. Kate's industry experience and academic background have also been instrumental in identifying and evaluating innovative financing and contracting strategies like public-private partnerships and crowdfunding, which can help governments address their infrastructure funding shortfalls.
