Kate Garmey

Kate Garmey is a professional with a diverse background in design, education, and innovation.

With a BA in Literatures in English/Hispanic Studies from Brown University, an MS in Integrated Marketing Communications/Media Management from Northwestern University, and training in Sketch Comedy Writing at The Second City, Kate brings a unique skill set to her work.

Kate's passion lies in designing experiences and stories that connect companies, leaders, and communities, enhancing their relationships and impact.

She serves as part of the teaching team at Stanford LEAD GSB, guiding executives in leading with creativity, purpose, and storytelling.

Kate is also involved in teaching design innovation courses to students pursuing their MBA at Northwestern University.

Having a rich array of experiences, Kate has been associated with various organizations, including Ask Sibyl, Stanford Center for Professional Development, BetterUp, and Grubhub.

In her roles, she has contributed as a Course Facilitator, Experience Design + Strategy professional, Subject Matter Expert in Storytelling & Innovation, and Design Innovator in Residence.

Moreover, Kate has been instrumental in academia, occupying positions such as Adjunct Professor, Faculty Advisor, and Instructor in Design Thinking, Human-Centered Design & Innovation.

Her entrepreneurial spirit is evident through founding ventures like Drink Tank LLC and past experiences in marketing and digital strategy at companies like Table XI Partners LLC, Critical Mass, and TMP Worldwide.

She has also lent her expertise to initiatives related to social media, product solutions, new business development, and marketing management.

Kate's commitment to innovation and education is further highlighted by her involvement as a Production Coordinator for the 2002 Winter Olympics.
