Kate Diamond
Civic Design Director HDR
Kate Diamond is a prominent architect and the Civic Design Director at HDR, where she also serves as a Design Principal based in their Los Angeles studio.12 She has extensive experience in translating the aspirations of diverse public and private clients into high-performance projects that serve federal, state, and local governments, as well as industries and educational institutions.1
Diamond is recognized for her commitment to the architecture community, having been the first woman president of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Los Angeles chapter. She currently serves on the AIA-LA Committee on the Environment (COTE), the Board of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), and has been involved with the U.S. General Services Administration Design Excellence Program since 1996.1 Her notable projects include net-zero initiatives for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and a headquarters for the Orange County Sanitation District.1
In addition to her professional work, Kate Diamond is dedicated to education, having taught design studios at the USC School of Architecture and given guest lectures at various architecture schools across the country.1
