Built and managed the data, technology, and analytics systems for a $25M short-term political campaign in six states, with a focus on cross-tool data integration, reporting, and training. Created and implemented the strategic roadmap for data ecosystems across several prominent progressive vendors, including a total of 30 pipelines that supported organizing, human resources, finances, and digital teams. Consulted program teams on data best practices based on in-cycle program analysis.

Led a team of analysts that supported and coordinated with all DNC Tech users, including 24 presidential campaigns, 56 state parties, 5 Democratic committees, and multiple technical vendors. Worked with users to identify data and tooling needs and coordinated with Tech Product, Data, and Engineering teams to build DNC Tech roadmap. Spearheaded support and communications as DNC Tech migrated hundreds of users from a nearly decade-old data warehouse to Google BigQuery. Organized two data technical trainings with 100 attendees, including writing curriculum, identifying trainers, and managing logistics.

Led a team of data and analytical specialists through two political cycles of voter contact across 9 total states. Directed tens of millions of dollars in targeted voter contact and education. Built internal data infrastructure and reporting platforms from the ground up, including management of various technical and analytics vendors. Developed unique and validated field- driven research methods to inform program around messaging, targeting, and research priorities. Chaired independent progressive community modeling and targeting efforts.

National Data & Analytics Director

Managed all independent expenditure client engagements. Created and administered database infrastructures for large advocacy organizations, allowing them to focus their digital, organizing, and fundraising efforts. Led a team that conducted media optimization, modeling, and voter targeting to pass several competitive ballot initiatives during the 2014 election cycle. Aided a Fortune 100 company in conducting marketing experiments that yielded $31 million profit annually.

Built and administered the database infrastructure at the backbone of a large-scale education campaign, helping outreach, fundraising, political, and communications departments make educated decisions about their programs. Designed and built detailed maps used by the United States Department of Health and Human Services and partner organizations as planning tools for enrollment strategies. Analyzed the program’s return on investment to ensure that their work justified their budget. Created unique paid communications tracking system to analyze earned media hits, aiding with targeted messaging and messaging performance.

Managed communication between the client services and technology departments, translating clients’ questions and concerns to the engineers to create better experiences for our clients. Constructed Tableau visualizations using Catalist clients’ internal data for use in the an annual Voter Registration 2012 Report. Supported key clients and helped them successfully navigate internal Catalist tools and APIs to strengthen their programs.

Managed data migration and hygiene processes across multiple platforms including VAN, QuickBase, and Blue State Digital to streamline the 2013 Presidential Inauguration ticketing processes and alumni activities. National Data Coordinator

Provided consultation and support to headquarters staff to help departments make informed decisions, allowing Barack Obama to win a key 2012 battleground state and its 20 electoral votes. Supported ten regional field directors and two deputy field directors on a daily basis; helped them target and contact persuadable voters, create and maintain neighborhood team relationships, and expand the electorate by 2.4% via voter registration efforts. Helped New York, New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware state staff track their volunteers’ activity in Pennsylvania, ultimately increasing capacity for voter contact leading up to Election Day.

Obama for America

Deputy Data Director

Built Washington State’s first reporting system, used by the state director and regional field directors to analyze field organizer productivity and volunteer performance for the 2012 cycle.

Summer Data Organizer

Worked under analysts to learn about research and polling to provide clients such as Obama for America, Lautenberg for Senate, NBC, Verizon, and Walgreens with insights into their own marketing and messaging campaigns. Built presentations for Obama for America to help the campaign with the vice presidential nomination and platform messaging.
