With over 20 years of experience in government, nongovernmental, and intergovernmental organizations, Kate is a passionate advocate for islands, cultivating partnerships, collaboration, and engagement in a global island context. Her strategic thinking, clear communication skills, and ability to create collaborative environments have been instrumental in driving impactful change within island regions. Kate, who is of Maori (Ngai te rangi) descent from Tauranga Moana, has lived in various countries, including Australia, Fiji, Samoa, and the United States. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism/Politics from Curtin University and attended Katanning Senior High School.
