Karis Barker

Karis Barker is a recent MPH graduate from the University of Illinois at Chicago who is now embarking on a career in public health research at the University of Calgary's Cumming School of Medicine in Canada. Karis has a Bachelor's degree in biology and Spanish from Wheaton College, and her academic and professional interests are focused on implementation science, knowledge translation, health communications, program evaluation, and comparative analysis of health care systems. She has experience in various research roles at both the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Calgary, as well as working as a health communications producer at the former. Karis is passionate about evaluating the effectiveness of public health programs, initiatives, and policies, and improving how they are communicated to the public.
