    Karim Moussa is a prominent figure in the financial and investment banking sector, currently serving as the Co-CEO at EFG Hermes Investment Bank and CEO of Vortex.

    With a career spanning over a decade at EFG Hermes, Karim has championed various high-profile projects, including the establishment of the Group's infrastructure private equity platform and the successful closure of significant deals like the Nasdaq-Dubai's USD445m take-private of Damas.

    His leadership prowess was further demonstrated through the creation of Vortex Energy, where he raised and allocated over USD500m towards renewable energy assets in Europe, culminating in a profitable exit worth c. 457MW of wind assets across multiple countries.

    Notably, in collaboration with GEMS, Karim spearheaded the launch of an education fund dedicated to K-12 schools in Egypt, securing approximately USD133m in investments.

    Since assuming the role of Co-CEO in 2017, Karim has overseen the buy-side operations at EFG Hermes, played pivotal roles on investment committees for various funds within the organization, and served on the Investor's Board of InfraMed managing a combined AUM of around USD3.5bn.

    Before joining EFG Hermes, Karim honed his expertise at Deutsche Bank, where he held a Vice President position responsible for M&A, ECM, and DCM advisory in the MENA region. He contributed to landmark transactions like the USD4.2bn Dubai Ports World IPO and other significant deals.

    Karim's academic background is equally impressive, holding a dual Masters in Business Administration and Mechanical Engineering from TU Berlin, showcasing a well-rounded skill set encompassing both finance and engineering disciplines.
