Karim Ahmad is a well-known writer, culture strategist, and organizer with an impressive portfolio of work under his belt. He studied Media Studies/Film Production at Pomona College before embarking on a prolific professional journey that included numerous senior roles, such as Director of Outreach & Inclusion at the Sundance Institute, Senior Strategist and Senior Producer at ITVS, and Creator and Showrunner of the groundbreaking science fiction series, FUTURESTATES.

Karim is also the Mastermind behind Restoring the Future, a world-building and media arts organizing initiative co-created by a coalition of arts organizations with the aim to embed restorative values practice across the field. Thanks to support from the NEA, this project enters a new phase of radical reimagining and prototyping in 2022.

Karim's writing skills extend far beyond traditional mediums, with his latest series, DIVIDE, which tells the story of immigration and family separation, set to be published as a science fiction comic book in Fall 2022. In addition to all this, Karim has been a lecturer at the Academy of Art University, a Creator & Series Producer at FUTURESTATES, and a Writer/Producer at Harrison Montgomery, LLC.
