Kari W. Howell, MAEd, is a dedicated advocate and professional working towards a future without poverty.
With a background in educational leadership and administration, Kari has a strong commitment to supporting first-generation college students and addressing homelessness.
Currently serving as the HMIS Program Manager at the Homeless Services Division in San Luis Obispo County, Kari utilizes data to drive strategies for reducing and preventing homelessness.
In addition to her role in homelessness prevention, Kari also serves as a Commissioner on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board in San Luis Obispo, where she advocates for low-income community members.
Kari's expertise spans program development, staff and budget management, public speaking, and institutional policy.
She has a rich educational background, including a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Administration from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
Kari has held various leadership positions in academic institutions and non-profit organizations, showcasing her diverse skill set and commitment to community service.
Her professional associations include NASPA, NAFSA, ACPA, and Toastmasters International, highlighting her engagement in the education and professional development sectors.
