Karen has held several key positions at the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, including Policy Senior Counsel for International & U.S. Attorney Civil Programs, Acting Chief of the Policy and Strategy Section, and Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General.
She also has international experience as the U.S. Hate Crimes National Point of Contact at the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
Karen's commitment to advocacy and education is evident through her roles as President of the Board of Trustees at the School For Friends and as an Attorney Advisor focusing on Appellate & Disability Rights.
Her legal expertise was further honed during her tenure as a Law Clerk for the Honorable David S. Tatel at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
