Karen Smith

Karen Smith is a dedicated individual driving positive change through health education, leadership, entrepreneurship, and community service.

In her role as a Director at Beautycounter, Karen focuses on educating the community about harmful ingredients in personal care products and the lack of regulation in the industry.

She is actively involved in speaking and training on topics related to the clean beauty movement, product safety, label reading, advocacy, and engagement.

Karen offers consultations for individuals and small groups to facilitate clean swaps and reduce environmental toxins in various settings.

She leads a growing organization of health advocates and educators working towards increased transparency and safety in the personal care sector.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Karen volunteers with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society San Diego/HI Chapter Team in Training Program and advocates for Women's Voices for the Earth.

Karen Smith holds a BA in International Studies, Political Science, and Spanish Translation from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She also studied Japanese at Sapporo University and Spanish at the University of Guadalajara.

She was a Founding Partner at The Kitchen Skinny before taking on her current role at Beautycounter.
