Karen Hopkins
Global Brand, Marketing and Communications Leader/Global CMO/Partner
Karen Hopkins is the Global Brand, Marketing and Communications Leader/Global CMO at EY, a position she has held since April 2017.3 With over 30 years of experience in the industry, she leads a team of more than 2,000 people and is responsible for developing and executing EY's global brand, marketing, and communications strategy across more than 150 countries.12
Hopkins has had a long career at EY, spanning over 25 years. She has held various national, regional, and global roles in marketing, communications, and operations across different locations including Sydney, Perth, London, and Hong Kong.13 Some of her previous positions at EY include:
- Asia-Pacific Brand, Marketing and Communications Director (2013-2017)
- Oceania Marketing and Corporate Responsibility Director (2011-2013)
- Chief of Staff for the Oceania CEO and Managing Partner (2009-2011)
- Global Marketing Director, Transaction Advisory Services (2004-2007)
- National Marketing Director, Australia (1999-2002)
In addition to her primary responsibilities, Hopkins is a member of the EY Global Corporate Responsibility Governance Council and leads the EY Ripples program, which aims to positively impact one billion lives by 2030.12
Hopkins holds a Bachelor of Business in Marketing from Curtin University and a Graduate Diploma in Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia.13 She is also a member of the Global Board of Governors for Junior Achievement Worldwide.1
Throughout her career, Hopkins has been a strong advocate for diversity and inclusiveness, working to challenge stereotypes and biases, and helping people build their careers, particularly focusing on increasing the positive visibility of women to improve gender equality.2
