Karen Chiu

Karen Chiu is a Hong Kong-based journalist with a specialization in covering technology in Greater China for the South China Morning Post.

Prior to her current role, Karen spent four years at CNN International, where she actively contributed to daily news programs, including the renowned 'News Stream with Kristie Lu Stout'.

Karen Chiu holds an impressive academic background, having graduated magna cum laude from Duke University, majoring in Political Science with a second major in Environmental Science and Policy. She furthered her education by obtaining a master's degree in Journalism with distinction from the University of Hong Kong.

Throughout her career, Karen has held significant roles such as Production Editor and Senior Reporter at the South China Morning Post SCMP, as well as serving as a Multimedia Producer. Prior to joining SCMP, she worked at CNN International in various capacities, including Writer and Associate Producer.
