Actress, Vocalist, Voice Teacher/Performance Coach
Karen Benjamin is a multifaceted professional with a background in singing, acting, teaching voice and performance, and directing musicals.
She currently engages in professional singing and acting projects, some alongside KUSC morning host Alan Chapman, while also teaching private voice and performance coaching from her home studio. Additionally, she instructs the Musical Theatre Workshop at Santa Monica College and is involved in acting studies at the Howard Fine Studio.
Karen holds a Master's in Music with a focus on Vocal Performance from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor's degree in Music and Theatre from Occidental College.
Throughout her career, she has served in various roles such as Music Professor at Santa Monica College, Vocal and Performance Coach, Professional Singer, Actress, and Vocal Coach at Pasadena City College and Santa Monica College, Director of the Musical Theatre Workshop at Pasadena City College, and Board Member at California Dance Institute.
