Karen Bellnier is an educator, leader, and facilitator with a passion for innovative teaching and learning practices.
With a background in psychology, anthropology, developmental psychology, and educational technology leadership, Karen brings a multidisciplinary approach to her work.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis, a Master of Science in Developmental Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a Master of Arts in Educational Technology Leadership (Instructional Design) from The George Washington University.
Karen pursued her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education at the University of Rhode Island, enriching her understanding of learning assessment, instructional design, and teaching methodologies.
Karen's professional journey has taken her to various institutions and roles, including being the Director of Instructional Technology and Online Learning at Community College of Rhode Island, Learning Architect at iDesign, and Associate Lecturer at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
She has also contributed to Johnson & Wales University in several capacities, such as Assistant Director of Online Education, Senior Instructional Designer, and Instructional Designer.
Furthermore, Karen has experience in the museum sector, having worked as a Project Manager and Exhibit Developer at Amaze Design, a Peer Reviewer Manager at the American Alliance of Museums, and a Master Educator at miSci - Museum of Innovation and Science.
Karen Bellnier's expertise lies in the intersection of learning assessment, design, and teaching, striving to create engaging, effective, and equitable educational experiences.
