After pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Sauder's career path took her to a variety of fields, including education, marketing, and nonprofits. Her diverse background has given her a wealth of skills, from event planning and recruitment to managing communications teams in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors.

Throughout her career, Sauder has built effective teams, mobilized stakeholders, and hit goals in a variety of environments. She has served as Senior Lead for Proposals & Reports at International Justice Mission, Marketing & Communications Coordinator at Carle Illinois College of Medicine, and Director of Communications and Programming at re global, among other roles.
