Kara Casy, PhD

Kara Casy is a dedicated professional who focuses on empowering communities through education, high-paying job opportunities, and promoting access to healthy food.

Kara has a strong educational background, holding a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Plant, Insect, and Microbial Sciences with a specialization in Plant Stress Biology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She also completed her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Agriculture with a focus on Plant Health Management at The Ohio State University, graduating with honors. Additionally, she studied Agronomy at Escola Superior de Agricultura 'Luiz de Queiroz'.

With a vast array of experiences, Kara has held significant roles in various organizations. She currently serves as the Director at Dallas College. Previously, she worked as the CAFNR International Programs Communications Coordinator at the University of Missouri-Columbia, Secretary at AIARD, Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Missouri-Columbia, Research Experiences for Undergraduates Summer Intern at Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at The Ohio State University.
