Dr. Kalyan Vinnakota is a seasoned bioengineer with extensive experience in academia, military medical research, and the biomedical research industry, spanning over a decade post his PhD. His primary focus lies in the realm of computational modeling of biochemical pathways and cellular transport processes. Dr. Vinnakota has made significant contributions in areas such as regulation of mitochondrial metabolism, Ras proteins' mobility and localization, and pharmacokinetics of small molecule therapeutics in translational animal models. His zeal for interdisciplinary research is evident through his dedication to advancing therapeutics for patients with unmet medical needs. Currently, Dr. Vinnakota oversees grants funded under the Vision Restoration Initiative at the Gilbert Family Foundation.
