Kalam holds an M.Tech. in Information Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, a B.E. in Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai, and another B.E. in Computer Technology from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai.
