Justin Weinberg

Co-founder of Aktiv Learning (Acquired by Top Hat)

Justin Weinberg is a technology enthusiast and co-founder of Aktiv Learning, an edtech startup catering to STEM education, that was acquired by Top Hat.

As the former CEO of Aktiv Learning, he played a pivotal role in the company's growth to over 70 employees and expansion to 700+ colleges and universities.

Justin Weinberg holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, where his research focused on improving Protein A affinity chromatography resins for monoclonal antibody drug purification.

His academic accolades include receiving the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship and the Ken Meyer Award for Excellence in Graduate Research during his time at CMU.

With a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from The Cooper Union, Justin gained industry experience at Merck & Co. and Ionis Pharmaceuticals.

In addition to his industry roles, Justin's teaching background led him to create the mobile video tutoring app, Chem Pro, to assist chemistry students.

Currently, he serves as the head of STEM product and strategy at Top Hat, overseeing the expansion of the Aktiv platform in North America.
