Justin W. Cook
Founding Director, Center for Complexity at Rhode Island School of Design
Justin W. Cook is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in architecture, design, and academia. He is known for his role as the Founding Director of the Center for Complexity at the Rhode Island School of Design. Justin holds a Master of Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design, a Diversity and Inclusion Certificate from Cornell University, and a Bachelors of Arts in Architecture and English Literature from the University of Washington.
Throughout his career, Justin has been associated with several prestigious organizations and initiatives. He co-founded Integrated Design Cubed and established CMMNWLTH PRJCTS LLC. Additionally, he has served as a Provost Fellow and Academic Lead at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he also worked as an Adjunct Professor. Justin has lent his expertise as a Strategic Design Advisor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and as a Sustainable Development Lead at Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund.
With a rich professional journey, Justin has also contributed to various projects and roles including being an Intern Architect at renowned firms like Renzo Piano Building Workshop and Callison. He has engaged in research at Harvard University and served as a Design Consultant for Campus Planning at Harvard University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Furthermore, Justin has advised on strategic design and public sector innovation at the Observatory for Public Sector Innovation at OECD - OCDE.
