Justin Sola
UNC-Chapel Hill Assistant Professor of Sociology & Data Science
Justin Sola is an Assistant Professor at UNC-Chapel Hill with joint appointments in Sociology and the School of Data Science and Society. His research focuses on gun ownership and the criminal justice system's interaction with inequality. He employs various research methods such as preregistered experiments, machine learning, longitudinal designs, semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and topic modeling. Justin also teaches courses on methods, sociology, and crime policy analysis. He holds a PhD in Criminology, Law & Society from the University of California, Irvine, and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies from Harvard University.
