The Clearwater is an historic sailing vessel which is used as a platform to teach environmental science and history to students from towns along the banks of the Hudson river. I worked as full time crew and lived aboard the Sloop. In addition to being an active member of educational programs for school groups I was also responsible for maintenance of the ship.From Wikipedia:The boatswain works in a ship's deck department as the foreman of the unlicensed deck crew.
