Justin Boland

Justin Boland is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in astrophysics, engineering, business development, and technology.

With a Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Caltech and a B.S. in Physics from The University of Texas at Dallas, Justin has a strong academic foundation.

His career highlights include leadership roles at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he served as Capture Lead, Supervisor, and System Engineer in the Advanced Instrument Concepts and Science Applications division.

Furthermore, Justin has co-founded and held the position of CTO at Looxcie, Inc., as well as served as Chief Technology Officer at Bionic Harvest, Inc.

His role as University Initiative Lead and Executive In Residence at Artiman Ventures showcases his expertise in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

Justin's current engagements involve leading astrophysics proposal concepts, serving as the Lead Systems Engineer for an Earth proposal, and contributing to A-Team studies that advance conceptual maturity.

He is an integral part of the NASA Instrument Cost Model team, attributing cost estimates to physical rationale, and provides post-delivery support to the MEDA SkyCam science instrument on the Perseverance rover.
