Julio Mayol, MD, PhD is a renowned surgical oncologist, colorectal surgeon, and expert in minimally invasive and robotic surgery. He currently serves as Director Médico at Hospital Clinico San Carlos in Madrid, Spain, and has held several leadership positions in healthcare organizations throughout his career.
Mayol's educational background includes a Master's degree in Healthcare Services Management and Institutions from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, as well as a research fellowship in Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He holds an MD and PhD from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, with a specialization in pathobiology of intestinal epithelia.
In addition to his clinical work, Mayol has been involved in several research projects and has published extensively in medical journals. He has also held academic positions at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación - Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
Mayol has been actively involved in several healthcare organizations, including serving as a former member of the council of management and director of the company, trustee at BJS Society Limited - British Journal of Surgery, and a member of the Mobile Health Global Advisory Committee at mHealth Competence Center at Mobile World Capital Barcelona Foundation.
