Julien Venne

Julien Venne is the Director of New Opportunities & Business Development at EIT Health, a position he started in March 2024.4 In this role, he supports innovation in healthcare across Europe, focusing on areas such as digital transformation, data and AI governance, digital health and wellbeing, public health, and planetary health.3

EIT Health, where Venne works, is a community of world-leading health innovators and one of nine Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), an EU body. The organization aims to connect business, research, and education to facilitate innovative healthcare solutions in Europe.1

Venne's responsibilities at EIT Health include:

1. Supporting project ambitions and co-designing frameworks, particularly from the perspective of innovators, strategic stakeholders, and policymakers.
2. Assisting with piloting, validation, and evaluation efforts for framework development in collaboration with the digital health technology community.
3. Coordinating activities related to education and training design and delivery to promote broad adoption of healthcare innovations.1

Prior to his current role, Venne served as the Director of the Digital Health Observatory at ECHAlliance.6 He is based in Barcelona, Spain, and brings significant experience in the healthcare innovation sector to his position at EIT Health.5

Venne is also a frequent speaker and participant in healthcare innovation events. For example, he is scheduled to participate in the UnConference 2024 event focused on "Embracing Medical AI," where he will contribute to discussions on obstacles and facilitators for AI adoption in the European healthcare landscape.2
