Julien Lassonde

Julien Lassonde is a Partner in R&D and Incentives at BDO Canada.57 He helps companies obtain government incentives, including tax credits and grants, to grow their businesses and fund their investment initiatives in innovation, ESG, and manufacturing capacity.1 He has over 20 years of experience securing government incentives for companies, including tax credits, grants, and other funding programs.3

Lassonde was previously a Tax Partner and National Incentives Leader at PwC Canada for seven years.3 Prior to that, he spent 13 years at Deloitte Canada, where he focused on SR&ED and government incentives.3 In 2017, while at PwC Canada, Lassonde helped companies obtain government incentives, including tax credits and grants, to grow their businesses and expand R&D initiatives.4 He also played a role as mediator between government agencies and companies to facilitate and accelerate the claim application process.14 Julien and his team built a Global R&D and Government Incentives practice in Brazil and France.4 He was also the Global R&D and Incentives Leader at PwC Canada.6

Lassonde has an MBA from HEC Montreal and a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal.13 He is also a member of the Quebec Order of Engineers.1
