Julian Richardson

Julian Richardson is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Holding a PhD in AI from the University of Edinburgh, Julian has a wealth of experience in leading research projects and managing teams of researchers and engineers. Prior to his current sabbatical, Julian worked at Blue Prism AI Labs where he led significant research initiatives. He has also made notable contributions to the field during his time at Google working on NLP problems.

Beyond his professional engagements, Julian has been actively involved in mentoring aspiring individuals, including those under the Social Mobility Foundation. In addition to his interest in NLP and machine learning, Julian has showcased his leadership abilities by serving as the general chair of the Automated Software Engineering conference in 2002. He has a strong publication record with several magazine articles and numerous journal, conference, and workshop publications.

Julian's educational journey includes a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh following his undergraduate studies in Mathematics at the University of Cambridge. Notably, in his free time, Julian indulges in creative pursuits such as writing fiction and pottery making.
