Julian O'Shea: The Social Entrepreneur Innovating Higher Education
Julian O'Shea is a renowned social entrepreneur, humanitarian engineer, and a leader in innovation in higher education. He has founded Unbound, a prominent educational startup bridging the gap between Australian universities and global innovation education. He previously directed education and research programs for Engineers Without Borders Institute, overseeing global development initiatives like the EWB Challenge, Regioneering Road Show, Humanitarian Design Summit program, and Journal of Humanitarian Engineering. O'Shea is also the founder of Link Festival of Design, Technology and Social Change, a reputable forum for socially-minded professionals.
O'Shea is a Human-Centered Design advocate and has been recognized for his social innovation work, including the Young Australian of the Year (South Australia), Pride of Australia Medal, and one of the Australia's 15 most inspiring Engineers. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from the University of Adelaide, a Master of Engineering Science (Project Management) from the University of New South Wales, an MBA from the University of South Australia, and a Ph.D. in Industrial Design from Monash University.
