Julian Heng, a renowned developmental neurobiologist and current Associate Professor at Curtin University, has made significant strides in understanding how the brain is structured and how individuals think uniquely. His research focuses on the genetic basis for neural circuit formation in the brain to provide individuals with the best start in life, as well as maintaining good mental health as we age. With a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Science Honours First Class in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from The University of Western Australia, Heng has held various positions in his professional career. Previously, he held positions as a Senior Research Fellow at Monash University, C J Martin (Overseas) Research Fellow at The National Institute for Medical Research, Mill Hill, and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Florey Neuroscience Institutes. Heng has also served as a Laboratory Technician in Wine Chemistry at the Department of Agriculture and Food WA.
