Julia Wise

Meet Julia Wise, a highly accomplished social worker and community liaison at The Centre for Effective Altruism. With an impressive academic background in sociology, she earned her bachelor's degree from Bryn Mawr College and her Master of Social Work (MSW) in health and mental health at Salem State College.

Julia has contributed her time and talent to various organizations over the years. She has served on the board of directors at GiveWell and as president of Giving What We Can, a charitable organization. Additionally, she has provided mental health services as a clinician at Suffolk County House of Correction and as a social work intern at BayRidge Hospital.

In the past, Julia has also volunteered her time and expertise to Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) and acted as a donor services administrative assistant at Oxfam America.

As a community liaison, Julia plays a crucial role in fostering relationships with stakeholders and promoting effective altruism. She brings a wealth of experience, skills, and knowledge to her work and is highly regarded in the social work community.
