Julia Johnson

Julia Johnson is a technology lawyer with a journalism/media background, currently serving as an associate at LaBarge Weinstein. She specializes in advising clients on commercial, regulatory, intellectual property, technology, and privacy law matters.

Julia completed her Juris Doctor at the University of Ottawa with a specialization in Law and Technology. She also holds a Bachelor of Journalism with Highest Honours from Carleton University.

Her professional experience includes roles as an associate lawyer at LaBarge Weinstein, previously working at McCarthy Tétrault in the Technology Law Group. In addition to her legal roles, Julia has held positions as a legal intern at Shopify and Kinstellar, a reporter at National Post and The Ottawa Citizen, a communications officer at the Medical Council of Canada, a teaching assistant in the Department of Law at Carleton University, and an Editor-in-Chief at Charlatan Publications Inc.
