Juha Uitto
Director, Independent Evaluation Office at Global Environment Facility
Juha Uitto is a seasoned professional in the field of international development, with a focus on evaluating programs related to environmental policy, natural resources management, and environmental hazards. He holds a PhD in Social and Economic Geography from Lund University and an MSc in Geography and Development Studies from the University of Helsinki.
Juha has held significant roles in various organizations, including serving as the Director of the Independent Evaluation Office at the Global Environment Facility and as the Deputy Director of the Independent Evaluation Office at UNDP. His experience also includes positions such as Evaluation Advisor at UNDP, Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist at the Global Environment Facility, and Senior Academic Programme Officer at the United Nations University.
Prior to his leadership roles, Juha Uitto has also worked as a Consulting Manager at Finnconsult Oy, a Research Fellow at the Nordic Africa Institute, and an Associate Expert at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
