Judy Wearing

Instructional Designer, educator, and author in love with online learning, creativity, critical thinking, trauma support.

Judy Wearing is a highly experienced and accomplished curriculum designer, writer, editor, and educator with expertise in creativity, critical thinking, trauma-sensitive teaching, and qualitative research. She holds a PhD in both Creativity and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Oxford, and has studied Creative Writing at Humber College, as well as completing a B.Ed. from the University of Western Ontario, and a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Guelph.

Judy has a strong record of success across a variety of educational organizations including Dignity Health Global Education, Queen's University, The Critical Thinking Consortium, S&S Learning Materials, Let's Talk Science, and the Department of Zoology at the University of Guelph. She has authored many publications, including The Creativity Formula, and has contributed to other academic works such as "Key Concepts in Curriculum Studies: Perspectives on the Fundamentals" (Routledge, 2019).

Judy's professional experience includes online curriculum development for science and education courses, program development and delivery, market research for educational products in the US and Canada, and product development/project management. She has worked with a staff of 15 full-time employees, 40+ authors and illustrators, and has managed more than a hundred book projects, websites, and CD-ROMs.

Her focus is on creating transformative learning activities, courses, and programs that help learners live more fulfilling and creative lives. She is passionate about helping teachers to support their students who have experienced trauma and also aims to support graduate students through their research into a bright future.
