Judy Malan
Leadership Development and Strategic Facilitation
Judy Malan is an experienced executive and team coach based in South Africa. She has been running her own leadership advisory practice, J Malan Leadership Advisory, since February 2013.2 Malan's work focuses on supporting senior teams and C-suite leaders in large institutions, helping them align their strategic intent and improve collaboration effectiveness.1
Prior to starting her own practice, Malan spent 14 years at McKinsey & Company, where she was a partner from 2004 based in the Johannesburg office.12 At McKinsey, she specialized in large-scale performance transformation programs, with a particular focus on organizational culture and leadership.1
Malan has a strong educational background, holding a B.COMM (LLB) from the University of Stellenbosch and a BCL (Master of Law) from the University of Oxford (Balliol College).1 She is a Newfield Network trained coach and an accredited facilitator of Organizational and Family Constellations with the Hellinger Institute.1
In March 2021, Malan was appointed as the Programme Director for the Archbishop Tutu Leadership Fellowship at the African Leadership Institute (AFLI).3 In this role, she oversees the prestigious leadership development program while maintaining her independent consultancy.1
