Juan Tellez, PhD
Juan Tellez, PhD is currently the Vice President of Algorithmic & Automation Risk at BMO Capital Markets in the United Kingdom.23 He previously worked as a Fellow at the Growth Lab from 2014-20161, a Lecturer of Financial Econometrics at University of Neuchâtel, a Lead Statistician at the French Institute of Health and Medical Research (2016-2017), an Associate in Model Risk Governance - Electronic Trading at JP Morgan in London (2017-2019), and a Director in Algorithmic Trading Strategies Validation at UBS (2019-2022).1
Tellez holds a Master in Economics (2005), a Master of Advanced Studies in Econometrics (2008) and a PhD in Econometrics (2014) from the University of Geneva.14 His previous research has focused on proposing new econometric methodologies useful in development, health, inequality and social and public policy.1
He was a research assistant in the Applied Economics Lab and a teaching and research assistant in the Department of Economics at the University of Geneva from 2006-2012.1 Tellez was also a Boninchi scholar and visiting researcher at McMaster University in Canada (2010-2011) and worked as a researcher at the French Institute of Health and Medical Research (2011-2013).1
