Juan Basto

Juan Camilo Basto is an expert in Chinese markets with over 12 years of experience living and working in Guangzhou. He specializes in international business with proficiency in Spanish, English, and Mandarin Chinese. Since 2008, Juan has collaborated with clients and investors from Colombia and Latin America on high-level innovation projects. He is the Co-Founder of @Basal Trading, overseeing company representations in China and Latin America. His focus lies in logistics, quality control, imports, exports, and consultancy services across various sectors, coordinating business missions and management meetings at key trade events in China and Hong Kong. Juan became a board member of The Colombian/Chinese Investment and Trade Chamber of Commerce in 2019. Notable achievements include attending the GES2016 Global Entrepreneurship Summit hosted by Former US President Barack Obama and accompanying enterprise delegations with Colombian President Ivan Duque on an official visit to Beijing in 2019, meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping alongside representatives from the private and public sectors of both countries. Juan boasts a strong network and extensive experience in the Chinese and South American markets, particularly in the GBA region (Greater Bay Area of Guangdong). His educational background includes studies in digital disruption and strategies of digital transformation at the University of Cambridge, as well as financial management at the Universidad de Ibagué.
