Joyce Tang

Joyce Tang is a Bay Area native with an impressive background in technology and communications. She holds a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications and Political Economies of Industrial Societies from the renowned University of California, Berkeley, as well as a diploma in Pastry Arts from San Francisco Cooking School.

Tang founded her business, Bake Sum, which is known for its nostalgic and whimsical Asian-inspired pastries. In addition to her online storefront, she recently opened the first Bake Sum brick and mortar bakery in Oakland.

Before starting Bake Sum, Tang worked at major tech companies, including Facebook and Google. At Facebook, she held multiple roles over several years, such as Technical Project Manager and Product Specialist Manager, where she specialized in Facebook Pages, Newsfeed, and Public Content. She also worked as Team Lead - Global Sales Reporting and Associate - Online Sales Operations. Prior to Facebook, Tang was a Google AdWords Strategist and an AdWords Ambassador at Google.

Outside of her tech and pastry careers, Tang was a Stagiare at El Celler de Can Roca, a prestigious restaurant in Spain. She was also the Chief Baking Officer at La Chinoiserie, a boutique pastry shop in San Francisco. Additionally, Tang co-owned Sunday Gather, a catering company.
