Josiah Rabon
United States Marine Corps Veteran
Josiah Rabon is a law student at the University of Arizona, specifically at the James E. Rogers College of Law. He is a third-year student and a veteran who has actively participated in the Veterans' Advocacy Law Clinic, where he has worked on cases to help fellow veterans upgrade their discharge statuses. Notably, he played a significant role in a case that led to a veteran's discharge being upgraded to honorable after years of living with a less than honorable status, which had negatively impacted his life and opportunities.1
Rabon enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school and served in the Special Operations community, spending about five years with the 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion. His experiences in the military, particularly the trauma of combat, have fueled his passion for advocating on behalf of other veterans. He has expressed that working in the clinic has provided him with a sense of normalcy and connection to others who share similar experiences.1
In addition to his work in the clinic, Rabon has interned with the Arizona House of Representatives and the Navy's Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAGC) during his law studies. After graduation, he aims to return to active duty as a Navy JAG, continuing his advocacy for service members and veterans.1
