Joshua Crosson

Joshua Crosson is the Executive Director of EdAllies, a Minnesota-based nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring all students, especially those most underserved, have access to quality education.12 In this role, he sets the direction for the organization's work and leads their efforts to improve educational opportunities for Minnesota students.2

Background and Experience

Crosson has a diverse background in public policy and advocacy:

• He graduated from Santa Clara University in 2006.5
• Prior to joining EdAllies, he worked in Washington D.C. for the Human Rights Campaign and on Capitol Hill.2
• At the Human Rights Campaign, he led student outreach operations and expanded the organization's mission to include LGBT students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities.2
• He spent four years as a legislative advisor to Congressman Adam Smith, focusing on labor, health, budget, and tax issues.2

Role at EdAllies

Crosson joined EdAllies as Senior Policy Director and was promoted to Executive Director in January 2020.3 As Executive Director, he:

• Coordinates advocacy efforts
• Serves as a point person for policymakers, partners, and the community
• Works to ensure all Minnesota students have access to a great education12

Personal and Community Involvement

Outside of his professional work:

• Crosson lives in North Minneapolis with his partner, Jon, and their dog, Jujubee.2
• He operates an adult LGBT sports league that benefits local charities in the Twin Cities.2
• He is passionate about education as a means to disrupt the cycle of poverty and address systemic inequalities.2
