Joshua Bakita
PhD Student in Real-Time Systems
Joshua Bakita is a Computer Science PhD candidate at UNC Chapel Hill with a background in developing DNN parallelization techniques at GM Research. He is seeking internships in autonomous vehicles and aerospace systems. Joshua's technical experience includes self-driving vehicle research, software development at Microsoft, and wearables device research at UNC. He has also contributed to open source projects like 0 A.D. On the non-technical side, Joshua has worked in public relations at the UK's House of Commons and in marketing for Microsoft's Student Partner program. He is actively involved in various organizations at UNC, including the Renewable Energy Special Projects Committee, HackNC team, and Computer Science club. Joshua's education includes a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from UNC Chapel Hill, where he also achieved a 3.94 GPA during high school.
Joshua Bakita's diverse work experience spans research and development internships at GM and Microsoft, teaching assistant and research roles at UNC, and positions in public relations and marketing.
