Josh Nussbaum

Josh Nussbaum is the Co-Founder and CEO of Stepwell Care, a startup focused on providing evidence-based treatment for substance use disorders (SUD). He has been in this role since February 2023. Nussbaum has over 11 years of personal recovery experience, which informs his approach to addiction treatment. Prior to Stepwell Care, he co-founded Halcyon Health, a virtual treatment program for SUD, where he served as CEO from October 2019 to May 2022.12

Nussbaum's educational background includes studies at New York University, and he has also been involved in various roles in the tech and healthcare sectors, including serving as an Executive Board Member and Startup Week Co-Organizer for Tech@NYU.1 His leadership at Stepwell Care emphasizes a supportive, non-judgmental, and trauma-informed approach to addiction recovery, aiming to fill a significant gap in community-based treatment services.2
