Josh Mateo is a creative leader with a keen eye for detail and a passion for designing and implementing innovative design processes to create impact. With a BFA from Rochester Institute of Technology, Josh has years of experience in the field of design and has held numerous high-level positions over the years. As a Design Lead at Netflix, he focuses on the strategy and architecture of Hawkins, the Netflix Design System. He co-led the design system evolution at Spotify, where he built a centralized and distributed design system and led design for Encore Web. Josh has also worked as a Designer at various marketing and design agencies such as The Barbarian Group and Glow Interactive.

As a design leader, Josh combines culture, community, and innovation to deliver quality at scale. He builds sustainable frameworks that create positive cultural shifts in how teams collaborate effectively. His mission is to collaborate and work with teams and improve the overall design process.
