i) As an Activist Investor in Tokyo, May 2016, delivered Shareholder Letter to public global Japanese $30.4 billion retailer, with due diligence and in-field research for strategic advisory of specific solutions for inventory operations, POS technologies, software analytics and business processes, leveraging "comply or explain" mantra of Japanese Corporate Governance Code by constructively provoking the actual "doing", leading to the CEO adopting the advised solutions within 2 months, for an increased market cap of 32.28%; ii) in June 2021, via a Shareholder Letter to life science firm, advising for more commercial talent, within 4 months, a chief commercial officer was hired for the first time in the company's 40 year history.

Lead Investor, CEO and General Counsel

Direct a 30+ year direct investment in Real Estate acquisitions, sales, development, construction, and management of residential, commercial, land, multi-unit, and mixed-use properties comprised of undervalued properties through identification and analysis of properties. Negotiate and process purchases, sales, and closings. Assess comparable sales, property values, and condition through research, market trends, and in-field site investigations. Negotiate financing and loans, acting as Mortgage Broker, Real Estate Broker, and Attorney, as licensed by Commonwealth of MA. Perform in-depth research to identify undervalued properties and opportunities for renovation, construction and procurement of advantaged materials and strong, cost-effective suppliers and contractors.

Design, build, and renovate undervalued properties, realizing 35 – 65% gross profit and up to 100% cash on cash leveraged profit, for the design, build, renovation, and management of such properties for a solid 45-55% net profit, and out-sized 100% cash-on-cash, return on equity.

Diligent sourcing resulted in a 38% reduction in cost of materials plus leveraging solid relationships and contacts within construction trades, resulting in savings of 50% of total cost, without sacrificing the quality of the finished product.

Filed lawsuits to proactively define trustee's fiduciary duties for beneficial rights of widow as lifetime income beneficiary of deceased husband’s multi-million dollar estate with multiple irrevocable trusts, in highly complex, multi-court series of suits over 4 years, ultimately increasing the widow's share by 150%. 

Created innovative licensing provisions for IP and software joint ventures to drive synergies and contributions of intangible know-how, integrating business methods and models technologies to share ownership and revenues.

Devised synergistic business methods and models within a) energy advisory services for renewable electricity procurement for cost containment and sustainability and b) merchant advisory services deploying digital credit and debit services utilizing digital solutions for increased sales.

Invited by Innovacorp, a Canadian Crown early-stage Venture Capital firm, to receive an Entrepreneur’s Start -Up Visa to Canada, the first and only American to garner this international honor, joining USP Lab, N.A. to guide development of UNICAGE software utilized for developing digital business information systems across silos, featuring 200 proprietary shell script commands of UNIX for ETL, ELT for business analytics of big data /relational data, and high-performance batch processing, deploying parallel systems migrations. Focused upon re-engineering design of business processes and business flows to build out and transform digital systems to greatly impact business use cases and enterprise operations.  Created  legal, business, and operational frameworks to integrate into software contracts for software system deployments.

Engaged SharePoint to support knowledge management and change management of FDA’s methods and processes.

Redesigned policy, practice, and methods for operations, insurance, and risks of FDA’s Genometrakr to incentivize food industry to report suspected food-borne illnesses at manufacturer’s earliest indication of potential contamination.

Science Legal Advisor 

Utilized digital and cyber technologies to mitigate risks by mapping the technologies' functions to named perils and risks within the business and its operations and designed governance policies, procedures, and practices to protect enterprise risks. Led services for Cyber Resiliency, Risk Mitigation, Incident Response, Digital Forensics, Penetration Testing, and Zero-Trust Platforms. Utilized anti-social engineering / phishing training and multi-factor authentication, combined with ISO, SOC, and NIST Cyber Security Frameworks to drive identity governance and access management for operational strategies and policies to produce optimum enterprise and cyber risk mitigation outcomes for the Enterprise, its Board, and the C-Level.

Constructed global risk and compliance strategies utilizing risk contracts, underwriting, and insurance policies to create and define innovative risk methodologies mapping technology functions to the specific risks of an Enterprise’s operations, services, and products, producing tangible enterprise risk reduction and operational cost savings.

Provided hands-on C-level executive leadership and design thinking to drive commercial competencies to execute KPIs and structured deliverables within technologies and life sciences. As an Executive, concentrated on de-risking Startups by aligning select human resources with business development, sales, and operations. I offered strategic advisory services for programmatic issues for MIT Sloan Portugal Entrepreneurship Innovation Program, and performed the following:

Invited to the University of Lisbon in 2014 to advise upon the BGI Program and perform a SWOT analysis of the Accelerator’s Entrepreneurship Program to improve content and outcomes.

Invited to position as an Independent Board Advisor for MIT Sloan Portugal Innovation and Entrepreneurship Initiative in 2013 to focus on Building Global Innovators (BGI) design and strategic imperatives. 

Hand-picked ultra-fast ultra-lite data integration software formatting technology start-up Do-doc, from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, which won a 100k euro  prize for first place November 2014, IUL MIT Portugal Accelerator and a place at TechStars Boston 2015.

I received an invitation to lecture as an Adjunct Professor of Law, Policy and Ethics from Boston University School of Medicine Healthcare Emergency Management Masters' Program, Neurobiology Department (Isaac Asimov Department). I lectured, conducted research, and crafted Joint Ventures for professors and philanthropists to engage in technology projects in health care and emergency management, health reform, genetics and genomics, public health, safety, and regulation.
